Coulter Principle (also known as: resistive pulse sensing method or RPS): The particles suspended in the electrolyte replace the same volume of electrolyte as the electrolyte passes through the small hole, resulting in a transient change in resistance between the two electrodes inside and outside the small hole tube in a circuit designed for constant current, generating a potential pulse. The size and number of pulse signals are proportional to the size and number of particles. Coulter Principle measures individual particles and three-dimensional. It can not only accurately measure the particle size distribution of materials, but also the ** number and concentration of particles. The measured particle size is closer to the real one while not affected by the physical and chemical properties of the sample.

1. What is the difference between the particle size measured by Nanocoulter and the real particle size?

Nanocoulter particle size analyzer is used to measure the equivalent resistance diameter of particles, i.e. the diameter of homogeneous spherical particles with the same resistance as the measured particles. It is the particle size of the composite particles in the solution state, that is, the hydrated particle size (hydrodynamic diameter). The hydrated particle size includes the core of the nanoparticles and the expanded micelles. In general, the measured particle size is larger than that of the dry nanoparticles seen by the electron microscope.

2. How does Nanocoulter particle size analyzer ensure the accuracy of data?

The standard scale microspheres are the standard material to measure the accuracy of the particle size analyzer. The direct measurement of the size of standard microspheres is the most simple and direct method to determine the accuracy of particle size analyzer data. By purchasing authoritative certified standard microspheres of different scales and using standard microspheres to test on Nanocoulter particle size analyzer, the test data with particle size deviation < 5 are accurate and reliable.
